Our tour begins after breakfast. The city is not only the economic center of the country but also its largest city. After visiting the Corniche Atlantic Coast on the seaside and the Ain Diab area, we head to the city of Marrakech. Upon arrival in Marrakech, we start to explore the city, which will take you back in time with its narrow streets, named "Murakuş" in the language of the Berbers, the oldest native people of North Africa, meaning "Land of the Gods." The city is also referred to as the "Red City" due to its famous terracotta-colored walls and buildings. During our city tour, we will visit important landmarks such as the Koutoubia Mosque minaret, the Majorelle Garden which hosts a collection of cactus plants from around the world, and Djema Elf Na Square, known as the "Gathering Place of the Community" or "Executioners' Square," the heart of the old settlement in Medina. We will also have the opportunity to visit the Herborist pharmacy, known as the spice shop of Marrakech. After our exploration, we will check into our hotel.
After having our breakfast at the hotel, we will head to the city of Essaouira, which has the designation of a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is located on the Atlantic coast. Before arriving in the city, we will have the opportunity to see the Argan trees that are unique to Morocco and visit a women's cooperative that produces the highest quality argan oil. Among the places we will see in the city, known for its white and blue buildings within its fortified old Medina, are Hassan II Square, the city ramparts built in the 18th century, and the souks and shops that host painters and wood artisans. Essaouira is a tranquil small coastal town that features a fishing port and a blend of art and culture. The city offers a serene atmosphere to guests from all over the world. This atmosphere has attracted famous figures such as Cat Stevens, Jimi Hendrix, Orson Welles, and Mick Jagger over the years. After departing for the hotel, we will have dinner at our hotel.
After breakfast, we will head towards the city of Ourzazate by crossing the Atlas Mountains. Before reaching Ourzazate, we will have the opportunity to visit the fairy-tale-like adobe village of Ait Ben Haddou, which has served as a backdrop for many famous films. Then we will see the Atlas Film Studios. Accompanied by a local guide, we will explore the sets and props from films such as Cleopatra, Kundun, Babylon, Nile Diamond, and many more. We will be staying overnight in the city of Ourzazate.
In the early hours of the morning, after having our breakfast, we set off towards the city of Erfoud, known as the "Gateway to the Sahara Desert." Along the way, we are greeted by unique landscapes where nature and culture intertwine. We take our first break in the Valley of Roses, which is famous for its annual international rose festival and organic cosmetic products. After a short pause in the valley, accompanied by its fragrant air and colorful scenery, we continue our journey towards the city of Tinghir. Passing through here, we visit the Toudra Valley and Canyon, renowned for its postcard-like views among the high cliffs. Throughout our journey, the crimson plains of the desert, green oases, and impressive cliffs will accompany us. As we approach Erfoud, we have the opportunity to observe the traditional agricultural irrigation systems, known as "Kethara" in Arabic, that have been used for centuries. Every detail that this unique geography offers unfolds before us like a story that connects the past and the present. When we arrive at our hotel to witness the magic of sunset on the sand dunes, we board our covered jeep vehicles to head into the heart of the desert. This special experience, to be enjoyed among the golden sand dunes in the last lights of the day, will be one of the most unforgettable moments of our journey.
After having breakfast in the early hours, we start the day by visiting one of Erfoud's workshops famous for its fossils. As we wander among these unique stones and objects that hold traces of life from millions of years ago, we are virtually traveling deep into time. Some stones contain tiny sea creatures, while others preserve the traces of prehistoric life; each whispers a different story. After that, we continue through the green surroundings of the Ziz Valley, passing through the city of Errachidia and taking a short break. From this point on, the scenery changes once again; the Atlas Mountains, with their breathtaking colors and majestic silhouettes, add an enchanting touch to our journey. After passing through the city of Midelt and taking a short break, we reach the town of Ifrane, located at an altitude of 1700 meters and known as the "Switzerland of Morocco." With its European architecture, clean air, and orderly city structure, Ifrane creates a feeling as if we are strolling in a town at the foot of the Alps, not in Morocco. At the end of this delightful day filled with visual feasts, we arrive in the historically rich city of Fes and check into our hotel for accommodation.
In the early morning hours, after having our breakfast, we set off to explore the magical Fes El-Bali Medina, dating back to the 9th century. As the first capital of Morocco, Fes stands out with its cultural heritage as the birthplace of the famous Fes hat. We begin our visit at one of the city’s symbols, the Blue Gate – Bab Boujloud. Then we explore the tomb of Idris II, the founder of the city, and stroll through the historical carpenter and coppersmith bazaar. The works produced by artisans showcase the importance Fes places on handcrafted goods. We witness the traditional methods of tanning leather in the world-famous tannery, known for its colorful pools that give the feeling of time standing still. In this impressive atmosphere, we have the opportunity for both photography and shopping. After our history-filled tour in Fes, we turn our route towards a fairy-tale town hidden among the mountains, namely Chefchaouen – The Blue City. Known for its blue shades contrasting with white walls, this enchanting settlement features narrow streets and authentic architecture, making it a photographer's paradise. The free time we spend in its Medina, established in the 15th century, offers a unique opportunity to experience the peaceful spirit of the town. At the end of the day, we head to one of Morocco's characteristic cities on the Mediterranean coast, Tetouan, where we will be staying overnight.
Our first stop on today’s journey is the pearl of northwest Morocco, Tangier… This coastal city, home to the country’s largest commercial port, meets the blue waters of the Strait of Gibraltar with its wide modern streets, lush parks, and forests.
We begin our visit in the Kasbah rising within the old medina and the authentic atmosphere of its narrow streets. Next, we witness breathtaking views where nature and history intertwine at Cap Spartel, located at the intersection of the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea. Following that, the Malabata Lighthouse, positioned in the Strait of Gibraltar, awaits us, where on clear days we can see the Spanish coast across the water.
After our exploration of Tangier, we head towards Rabat, the capital of Morocco. During our panoramic city tour, structures representing modern Morocco, including the Mohammed VI Tower, new opera house, and Royal Palace, will be seen from the outside. Then, we visit the Mohammed V Mausoleum and the Hassan Tower, which remains unfinished yet draws attention with its grandeur. We will also see from the outside the Kasbah of Oudayas, one of the city’s first settlements overlooking the ocean, before saying goodbye to Rabat.
Our next destination is Casablanca, the economic heart and largest industrial city of Morocco. In this city with a relatively younger history, we will visit the magnificent Hassan II Mosque, which has the world’s tallest minaret and was built in 1993, from the outside. Next, we encounter Rick’s Café, which inspired the classic Hollywood film Casablanca, and the Mohammed V Square, commonly known as Pigeon Square, considered the city center.
At the end of the day, we bid farewell to this unique journey with an evening meal along the Atlantic coastline.
We depart from Casablanca Mohammed V Airport at 00:05 with Pegasus Airlines to Istanbul. With our arrival, we conclude this unforgettable tour.
