A Day Trip to Pamukkale

We begin our journey in the morning from Antalya, traveling through the unique landscapes of the Taurus Mountains. Along the way, we take a breakfast break at Hilmi Beken, where we start the day pleasantly and enjoy a breakfast enriched with local flavors before continuing our journey toward Denizli. As we travel along the route, we have the opportunity to closely observe the region’s different geographical features, taking in the natural beauty stretching from the Mediterranean coastline to the inland areas.

Our first stop, Işıklı Lake, offers visitors a peaceful environment with its calm atmosphere, wide water surface, and the natural life surrounding it. The lake, which is an important habitat especially for migratory birds, also creates impressive scenery for photography enthusiasts. After spending enjoyable time around the lake, we turn our route to Kaklık Cave, which has a special place among Turkey’s natural beauties. Also known as the “Underground Brother of Pamukkale” because of the travertine formations created by thermal waters rising from underground, the cave attracts attention with its stalactites, stalagmites, and healing water sources. After our excursions, we arrive in Denizli and take a lunch break to taste one of the region’s famous delicacies, tandır. One of the most beloved examples of local cuisine, tandır wins the appreciation of our guests with its special flavor, prepared by being cooked for many hours. After lunch, we visit the Pamukkale Travertines and the Ancient City of Hierapolis, both of which are on the UNESCO World Heritage List. The dazzling white travertine terraces formed by thermal waters over thousands of years are considered among the world’s most impressive natural formations. While walking on the travertines and enjoying the unique views, we also have the opportunity to closely see the theater, necropolis, colonnaded street, and historical structures in Hierapolis Ancient City, one of the important health and cultural centers of antiquity. The historical fabric and natural beauty of the region offer an unforgettable experience.

Before our return journey, we are making a short stop in Serinhisar, one of the districts famous for chickpea production in Turkey. After our shopping break, where local products and different varieties of chickpeas are available, we set off toward Antalya. With the happiness of having enjoyed a pleasant excursion filled with natural beauty, historical heritage, and local flavors throughout the day, we arrive in Antalya in the evening and bid farewell to you, our valued guests, until we meet again at the next event.
