Day 2: Virgin Mary House - Ephesus Ancient City - Şirince
After breakfast at our hotel in Kuşadası, we set off toward Selçuk. Then, we head to the House of the Virgin Mary, which holds great importance for Christianity. With our guide’s impressive narration, we visit this sacred site, believed in Christian tradition to be the place where the Virgin Mary spent her final years with John and where she is said to have died. After absorbing the historical and spiritual atmosphere, we continue on to the Ancient City of Ephesus, one of the 12 cities of Ionia. In this ancient city with a deep-rooted history dating back to 3000 BC, we embark on an unforgettable journey of discovery accompanied by our guide. As we wander among Ephesus’ magnificent structures, we will travel back into the depths of history. The magnificent facade of the Celsus Library, the impressive atmosphere of the Ephesus Theater, one of the largest theaters of the ancient world, and the elegant details of the Temple of Hadrian will transport you to the magical world of antiquity. Ephesus was one of the most important trade centers of the ancient world and, in this respect, served as a meeting point for different cultures. After completing our visit to Ephesus, we head to Şirince, where we will have lunch, and one of the most charming villages of the Aegean. In Şirince’s unique atmosphere, which features some of the finest examples of 19th-century Ottoman architecture, you can taste local products, discover its unique architectural texture, and enjoy the famous Turkish coffee. You can delight your palate with the different aromas of this special coffee, cooked in hot sand. You can also sample Şirince’s famous fruit wines. After our pleasant break in Şirince, we begin our return journey at the end of a day full of unforgettable memories.
